Privacy Policy
We collect almost nothing. Here is exactly what that means, checked against what the site actually does.
The short version
No advertising trackers. No account to create. We count page views so we know which articles are worth writing more of.
Counting page views
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages get read and roughly where readers arrive from. It sets no cookies and creates no identifier that could follow you to another site. We can tell that an article was read a hundred times; we cannot tell that you read it.
We also use Google Analytics, which gives us a fuller picture of how people find the site. Unlike the above, it does set cookies in your browser and Google processes the data under its own privacy policy. If you would rather not be counted, browser settings that block third-party cookies or tracking will stop it, and nothing on this site breaks if you do.
We also collect Core Web Vitals — how quickly pages actually load for real readers — for the same reason: so we can fix the slow ones.
Newsletter signup is switched off at the moment, so there is nothing to subscribe to and no address being collected. If you signed up previously, your address is still held with Brevo, our email service; every email we send carries a working unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address entirely by emailing info@t1dtips.com. We have never sold or rented it and never will.
Things stored on your own device
Some pages have checkboxes — a school-nurse supply list, recipe ingredients — and your ticks are remembered so the page is still useful when you come back. That is stored in your browser on your device. It never reaches us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Product links
If you follow a link to a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer may set a cookie so any purchase is credited to us. That happens on their site under their privacy policy, not ours, and we never see who bought what — only a total. See our affiliate disclosure.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel and the images are served from our own content system. Like any web host, their servers keep short-lived request logs including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. We do not query those logs to build any picture of who is reading.
Health information
We do not ask for any, and you should not send us any. If you email us at info@t1dtips.com about something personal, that message sits in an ordinary inbox with ordinary email security — please keep that in mind before sharing details about yourself or your child.
Children
This site is written for parents and adults managing T1D. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If we ever start collecting anything beyond what is listed here, we will say so on this page first.
